Teaching.

I have primary responsibility for Insect Identification, Biosystematics, Insect Structure and Function, and Graduate Seminars in my current position. I have also taught Field Entomoloy, Biogeography, Evolution of the Coleoptera, (Montana State University), General Agriculture (College of the Virgin Islands), General Biology and Zoology, Agricultural Entomology, and Landscape Architecture, Evolution (The Ohio State University), as well as short-courses on beetle identification (Montana State University and INBio, Costa Rica).  Since 2001 I have served as a Fellow in the University Honors Program (Montana State University) for Freshman Texts and Critics.

Advising graduates students is an important part of my teaching appointment, including 2 current students and 6 who have finished their M.S. degrees.  Of these, 3 have continued for the Ph.D. with 2 of those now in faculty positions.
